THE STORY BEHIND IRU

1968 — KOREA
Earned Korea’s Level 1 National Culinary Certification.

1975 — JAPAN
Moved from Korea to Japan, bringing with her the flavors and traditions of Korean home cooking.

1978 — THE BEGINNING
Opened her own restaurant in Japan, building a place around Korean food, hospitality, and the feeling of eating at home.

1978–TODAY — A FAMILY TRADITION
Her recipes and approach to hospitality were preserved and passed down through the family.

2025 — BOSTON
IRU opened in Brookline, Massachusetts, carrying Sam Soon Park’s cooking and philosophy to a new generation.
